Bhavan's College is a college located at Andheri West, a suburb in Mumbai, India. It was established in 1946, a year before India gained independence from The British Empire in 1947. Kulapati Dr. K.M. Munshiji was the founding president of the college. Bhavan's College is a part of the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan. The college is built upon of land and has huge volleyball and basketball courts, as well as football pitches and a botanical garden. The Nature and Amateur Radio clubs are very popular. The college festivals are the Ray Film Festival O2 and Bhavans Nature fest Prakruti. The streams offered here are Arts, Science, Commerce, Information Technology, Computer Science, Biotechnology, Management Studies and Mass Media. ==Festival== * O2 - ‘O2 the Fest’ is a theme-based and Popular intercollegiate cultural festival, involving student participation from a number of city Colleges. It provides a platform for various innovative competitions like singing, dancing, music, mimicry, acting, painting and other fine arts. All these competitions are in accordance to the chosen themes. What is noteworthy is that the O2 festival is always based on a Socially Relevant theme and always carries a value-based, socially relevant message which the students imbibe while enjoying the festival * Ray film Festival - RAY is another theme based intercollegiate Film Festival organised by the College dedicated to the memory of doyen of Indian cinema: Honourable Satyajit Ray. RAY provides opportunity for students to actualize and showcase their talents to relate to various mass media like cinema, print media, advertising, television and so on. This festival in addition to teaching the students, it is to appreciate and study eminent film-makers, also provides a chance to learn techniques and technology to explore careers in the mass media.
